LOCATIONS&MAP

UPTOWN
Mitakihara school:
This is where characters who are of the appropriate ages will attend school, if they so choose. Obviously, it isn't a requirement, but please do keep in mind that there may be consequences if they don't. Luckily, all of the schools are in the same area. There is an elementary school, a junior high school, a community college, and a university, and they are all around 10 minutes apart (walking distance). There is public transportation available, however, to cut down on your commute time!

Residential area:
Of course, it wouldn't be a town if there were no places for people to live! And the Puella Magi wouldn't be able to keep themselves in top-notch shape without shelter. This area of Mitakihara is rather well-built up. There are homes built in nice, cozy neighborhoods that are all within a comfortable distance of each other— they're not too close, but moving from one area to another wouldn't be too difficult or take very long, especially if you weren't going by foot. There are also two apartment complexes. One is run by the Incubators who are in charge of making characters into Puella Magi. This is where characters who agree to form a contract or who show interest in joining their ranks can stay, free of charge. The other complex is geared toward families, and it is situated near the park. The park is within walking distance from the second apartment complex, but it's a little out of the way in relation to everything else. It's an incredibly typical (but well-kept!) park with plenty of grass, a small playground, and so on. Near the park, there is a public swimming pool that characters can go to if they need to beat the summer heat. Be careful, though! It gets a little crowded during the warmer months.

Outdoor shopping plaza:
Everything that can be found here is typical— even though people are being pulled from all over the world, the things you can find here are only the sorts of things you might be able to get your hands on in a regular, everyday shopping mall. For now, at least. Who knows what sort of things will be pulled into Mitakihara in the future!

DOWNTOWN
Mitakihara mall:
Just like the shopping plaza, this is somewhere you character can go to buy things. It's got a wider variety of things to choose from, however. There are clothing stores, stores you can buy electronics and other forms of entertainment in, a food court, and so on.

Restaurants:
The food court isn't the only place to grab a bite to eat. Scattered all throughout the downtown area of Mitakihara, there are restaurants. Fast food, diners, and just a couple of finer places to eat can be found if you know what you're looking for.

Movie theatre:
Since this isn't a town made for Puella Magi, it's only natural that there are plenty of places to entertain oneself. The towns people need things to do, since they're not charged with the task of defeating witches, after all! Near the mall, there is a rather large movie theatre that always plays the newest, most modern movies, as well as some older classics. The inside is well-cared for, there's a generous snack bar, and it's apparently a very common places for teenagers to hang around.

Adult entertainment:
Most of the people brought to Mitakihara to become Puella Magi aren't quite of age yet, but that doesn't mean there can't be a few places where the older residents of the city can have fun. This isn't limited to lewd things, however, so get your mind out of the gutter! There are a few clubs, bars, and other adult-oriented places scattered around. They're only open at night, though, and they require an ID to get in, so only no one under the age of 21 should worry about this too much. Unless, of course, they happen across some other way to get in.

Park:
Just like the other park, this one is taken care of and furnished with all of the things you would expect to see. There's a small playground, plenty of space to move around in, and there's even a small lake in the center of it all.

Library:
Should your character gain a thirst for knowledge (or just need to read up on something for that extra-hard class they're in!), the library would be the place to go. There is a bookstore in the mall, but they can rent out books for a short period of time here, and the selection is incredibly wide. Who knows what you could find if you kept your eyes peeled.

Shops:
Let's face it— you can never have enough places to shop. Whether it's because you like to compare all of your options for the best bargain, or because you're just picky, it doesn't hurt to have a lot of choices! That's why, throughout the downtown area, there are small shops and family-run businesses to check out, in addition to a very active food market that can be visited to buy fresh fruits, vegetables, and the like. Maybe, once your character establishes themself in the city well enough, they can even start up something of their own.

THE APARTMENT COMPLEX

A beautiful modern building, there is only a single sign in the pristine grass with the words "Apartment Complex" on it, clearly printed from a computer. The parking lot is eeriely empty, and the pathway is perfectly laid granite. Walking up to the complex feels a bit intimidating the first few times, since it's so impersonal, but you'll get used to... probably.

FIRST FLOOR
In order to enter the building, you'll need to swipe your keycard through a slot. Once it verifies, the glass doors unlock, and you'll be able to enter the first floor. The first floor of the complex is grand, but features only the bare minimum.

The Lobby
The lobby of the apartment complex is the first room you walk into when you enter. It's large and spacious, resembling a hotel lobby. There's a sitting area, where there are large, plush seats, and several coffee tables. Opposite the sitting area is check-in. An attractive woman with her hair in a bun will greet you with a smile every time you enter. Something about her smile seems a bit artificial though...

Kitchen
Unfortunately, that's the last of the staff you'll be seeing. There's no cook here and the Incubators will give you the food to cook, but you're preparing for yourself. If you can't cook, you better make friends with someone who can! There's a kitchen on each floor, but the kitchen downstairs is particularly large. The fridge is constantly stocked with a plethora of foodstuffs, the cabinets are full of anything you need, and then some. In general, the kitchen is several times bigger than it needs to be. There's a short hallway in the kitchen that leads into another room...

Dining Room
The dining room is, well, a dining room. It resembles a restraunt, for the most part, with a large cherrywood table in the middle. You enter it by going through the short hallway in the kitchen, and swiping your keycard at the door. This room is only accessible by people staying at the complex. The table in the middle could easily fit an upwards of thirty people at it, but thankfully, there are several smaller tables if you don't wish to dine with everyone.

BASEMENT
If you leave the dining room and kitchen and go off to a door at the end of the sitting area in the dining room, you'll find yourself confronted with a door that says "BASEMENT". Opening the door reveals a short flight of stairs, and walking down them leads to...

Washing Room
We said it before, but there's no staff here. You're on your own, and you'll be washing your own clothes, too. There's only one room on the basement floor, and it's where everything you'd find in a basement is. The broiler, the breaker box, so on and so forth. A bit less expected is a series of washers and driers. Sadly, you'll probably not be washing much down here, unless you get a job and buy more clothes. Or you resort to stealing. You know, either one is viable. There are instructions for working the machines taped onto to each of them, with a reminder note to put them back once you're done reading them.

SECOND, THIRD, AND FOURTH FLOORS
Between the front desk and the sitting room in the lobby is a pair of elevators, they work at all hours and will take you to each floor. If you're looking for more of a work out, next to them is a door that reads "STAIRS" and you're welcome to walk several flights of stairs to get to your room, if you want. The Incubators are not familiar with the history "four" has in the Japanese language, but you're welcome to notice the fact the last floor at the complex is "death".

Hallways
The elevators and stairs open into the hallways, where rooms are marked with a number. Each room's door opens with your keycard instead of a door handle or a lock, or anything like that, and only keycards that match the room's records will open each door, so don't go thinking you can break into someone's room. The hallways are well-lit, but the lack of windows makes them feel closed in.

Rooms
Each room has two rooms, the bedroom and the lounging room. The lounging room is sophisticated and modern, with a flatscreen television, a mini-fridge and a stocked mini-bar. There's two chairs and a sofa, the latter of which opens up into a bed if you need it.
The second room is the bedroom. There isn't much in this room but two beds and a large window, which only open if you use your keycard.
There is, naturally, a bathroom, equipped with a toilet and a shower. No matter how much of the soap you use, it seems like you're never out...

Kitchens
Each floor has a kitchen, which are nowhere near as stocked as the kitchen on the first floor, but are stocked well enough anyway. The kitchens are much smaller and there is an island in the middle of each kitchen for an upwards of four people to eat at. The stove and oven are also not as large, but still functional. The fridge is average sized, but well stocked with meats and everything else you need. Just be sure to put your name on something if it's your's.
